We've jetsetted from New York to London, and now we are following the Fashion Week trail over to the Italian city of Milan: we are really getting an international makeover! Yesterday, September 23, saw the Les Copains show hit Milan Fashion Week, with bold spring-inspired shades of yellow and pink set against white, cream and stripes of black. The models then sported flowing, soft curls and natural makeup looks with glowing hints of molten metallic eyeshadow.
This gold-hued makeup look flawlessly emphasizes bronzed, sun-kissed skin tones or those with naturally olive complexions, and is the perfect color to make light green eyes pop!
Get the Look
As always, start by getting your base picture perfect. Once you have applied an illuminating primer and allowed it to absorb into your skin, dot a mattifying liquid foundation onto the back of your hand. Apply in small circles with a clean foundation brush, beginning with any problem areas around the center of your face and working out towards the hair line.
Check for any remaining redness or imperfections and smooth them away with a concealer. Finish your base layer with a dusting of illuminating powder along the bridge of your nose, your forehead and just beneath your brows, and give your cheeks a touch of blush.
Use a spoolie to comb your brows in an upward direction, then switch to a medium to light brow pencil to add short, sharp dashes to the middle of each brow in the same direction. Comb through again to blend the pencil lines and fix in place wih a coat of transparent brow plumping gel.
Finally it's time to copy those shimmering metallic eyes! And the technique is super simple: first apply an eye primer across your lids and just under your lower lashes. Then use a soft-headed eyeshadow brush to dust a creamy gold shade across your lids, starting around the tearducts and working across towards your outer lashes. Switch to a smaller application brush to then add a touch of the color beneath your lower lashes. For higher definition, blend a sand eyeshadow shade into the gold around the outer corners of your eyes, and leave your lashes mascara-free!
Finally, perfect a natural, nude pout for your look! Exfoliate your lips gently and allow a rich, moisturizing lip balm to sink in before completing the look with a coat of light pink lip gloss.
