Jennifer Lopez, L'Oréal Paris ambassador extraordinaire, rocked a gorgeous white ensemble to the New York premiere of her latest film "Parker". The finishing touch to this look was an intricate reversed French manicure; chic nail art at its best!
Luckily for us, expert nail technician Tom Bachik has given us some top tips to help you recreate the look. (He's also the guy responsible for Anne Hathaway's recent butterly manicure at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, so you can bet that he knows his stuff!)
How to get a reverse French manicure
Step 1: "Start by manicuring your nails in a rounded square shape for a soft natural look. After base coat has dried, apply two thin coats of an opaque white as your base color - this will become the crescent. For best results take the time to let dry. During this time use an old lip or eye liner dipped in remover to clean up polish from around cuticles."
Step 2: "Use a nude shade as your main color. Apply one to two coats starting about three quarters (3/4) the way back on the nail. Follow the shape of the cuticle leaving the white exposed to create the crescent shape."
Step 3: "Let dry for one minute and finish with "Parisian Crystal," a high gloss top coat, to seal and protect your look."
Tom also had advice on how to makeover this fun, versatile look:
"Change colors to better match your skin tone or use high contrasting bright and pastel colors for an optional look!"
We'll be giving this manicure a try ASAP! Thank you, Tom Bachik.
