We may be suffering from those Monday back-to-work blues once again, but thankfully we have found just the cure: a cute blue manicure! Friday, October 9, saw Variety's Power Of Women Luncheon take place in Beverly Hills, bringing strong, successful and stylish leading ladies to the red carpet.
Amongst the crowds we spotted 36-year-old actress and mom Jaime King in a gorgeous pink and white, long-sleeved gown with a slit up the front, and thiscool ombré nail art, working from a white shade on her thumb across to an eye-catching cobalt blue on her little finger: we simply had to take a closer look! Here's how you can nail this cute and simple look for yourself...
Get the look
Step one of any manicure? Get those nails in shape, of course! Remove any previous layers of polish with a cotton bud coated in nail polish remover then file them into shape, making sure you only move the file in one direction along the nail: sawing backwards and forwards only damages and weakens the keratin.
Next, get your base coat ready! Giving your nails a shielding coat of this clear formula protects them from damage while keeping your polish fixed in place for longer. Make sure this coat is fully dry before moving on to the next step...
It's time for some color! Pick the color range you want to try out, whether you go for a bright sunset assortment working from yellow into orange and across to red, or a selection of gradually darkening pinks across your fingers! If you love Jaime's color choices, start with a pure white shade on your thumb, move onto an off-white grey or light pink, then use an iron grey on your middle finger, a lilac blue on the next and finish with an electric or cobalt blue on your little finger.
Allow for the first coat to dry and apply another for an opaque finish. Then give each nail a layer of top coat for extra gloss that will last longer.
Have a happy #ManiMonday!
