The stars were out on December 8th for the Trevor Project Benefit held at the Hollywood Paladium.
Usually when a group of celebrities hit the red carpet, we prefer to analyze their fashion and beauty looks rather than their manicures. This year, however, we couldn't help but notice some of the stellar nail art at the Trevor Project Benefit. Some key trends for 2014 were represented on the red carpet and we're going to tell you all about them!
We've written before about the rise of metallics (they're definitely having their moment right now). Singer Paula Abdul complimented her flamboyant bright red dress with silver foil nail art. She opted for a rounded nail and a polish that sparkled without any glitter in sight!
Of course, if we're going to talk metallics, we can't ignore Fergie , who truly knocked it out of the ballpark with her bright gold manicure . For her nails, the singer likely layered different polishes to get a one-of-a-kind effect. It looks like she used a metallic gold to start, followed by a gold glitter. She topped it off with some gold and diamond fingertip rings that make her nails shine even more!
Red, both classic and perfectly festive, was another hit this year. On Becca Tobin we saw the uber-trendy oxblood shade, which was the perfect color to compliment her edgy jewelry and leather dress. Peta Murgatroyd went a more timeless route with fire-engine red.
We saw the bare look more than once on the red carpet! While nude nails are huge at the moment, these nails were, well, actually nude! For this look, keeping your nails trimmed and your cuticles moisturized is still really important. Sarah Michelle Gellar kept things simple and saved some time this year by going nude on the red carpet this year!
There you have it! Which will you wear?
