Coming into the second week of the 69th Cannes Film Festival, we've seen almost every hairstyle you can imagine come through the red carpet. From beautiful long wavy locks, to braids, and electric red bobs, celebs have pulled out all the stops to ensure they make a statement when it becomes their turn to walk La Croisette. Yet from Day 1 of the festival, there has been one hairstyle in particular that has repeated itself time and time again – the half ponytail.
First spotted on L'Oreal ambassadors Eva Longoria, Doutzen Kroes, and Bianca Balti at the Day 1 premiere of Woody Allen's Cafe Society, the half ponytail is a simple, yet elegant style that can be transformed to suit your individual needs. While Doutzen opted for the minimalist approach to the half ponytail, Bianca Balti accessorized hers with a velvet ribbon.
Days later, for week 2 of the festival, Middle Eastern beauty Ola Al Fares was spotted rocking her own version of the half ponytail at the premiere of The BFG. The L'Oreal muse curled her long brown locks and pulled them back creating a slightly backcombed look that gave her an air of elegance and grace.

OLA AL-FARES TEASED HALF PONYTAIL
To start off, spray your hair with a thermal protective spray to prevent heat damage. Next, use a comb to gently back comb the top of your hair, or the portion that you wish to pull back into a ponytail. Use a brush to pull your hair back into a half ponytail. Secure with an elastic.
Next, use a medium-sized barrel curling iron to curl the bottoms of your hair, strand by strand. Start by curling the hair in your ponytail, and move on to curl the rest of your strands, making sure to stay near the bottom of your hair.
Spray the back of your head with a strong hold hairspray, and proceed by pushing the base of your ponytail up to create height. Secure with bobby pins and once again, spray your entire head to ensure your hair lasts all night long!
