Yesterday, August, 12, saw the People StyleWatch Fall Fashion Party bring a whole host of stars to New York City, and didn't they look stunning! We especially couldn't get enough of model, TV presenter and beauty queen Olivia Culpo, who stepped out wearing a pure white, v-necked mini dress with a black clutch and her high-shine dark locks tucked back behind her ears.
Makeup for olive skin
If you are lucky enough to have a warm olive skin tone like Olivia, you need to make sure you know how to show it off with your makeup! Follow Olivia's lead and get your evening look in line with your warm, tanned complexion...
Start with an initial layer of illuminating primer on clean, moisturized skin to create a light canvas for your makeup. Primer also helps to keep your makeup fixed in place all day - or night - long!
Swap your regular foundation for a lightweight BB cream to provide the coverage you want but to also allow for your olive skin tone to shine through. Then use a highlighting powder such as a True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator to contour your features with a light, natural look! Blend with a nude, matte face powder if necessary and add a touch of rosy blush to the apples of your cheeks, steering clear of any light fruity shades but instead opting for darker, more bronzed powders.
Next, it's time to master those perfect brows! Use a spoolie to comb the hairs in an upward direction before using a brow pencil to fill with color. Comb through your brows again in the same direction before applying a gel Brow Plumper to add a gorgeous thickness to your brows and to keep them looking mighty fine for longer!
Now for those sultry smoky eyes. Start by using a soft eyeliner to coat your waterlines, extending right into the tearducts. Then opt for a dark bronze eyeshadow shade, sweeping it the color across the lid, into the creaseline and just below the lower lashes. Change your brush and your shade - this time choosing a shimmering cream or a light gold - and dusting it lightly around the inside of the eye and just below the tearduct. Two coats of volumizing mascara will do the trick to finish this dazzling look!
Finally, give your lips a coat of candy pink lip color and you're ready!
