Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2016 is officially in full swing with presentations from Dior, Chanel, Giambattista Valli, and Versace already having taken place. Of all the looks that have already graced the catwalk, one in particular caught our attention: the 1960s makeup from Georges Hobeika's show.
High fashion beauty within reach
Just like the clothing, haute couture beauty has a tendency to be wildly creative, elaborate, and virtually impossible to wear in "real life" (yep, even working in the beauty world, it's difficult to find the right moment for jewel-encrusted eyeliner or gold-painted brows). Yet, finally, a designer has chosen makeup we can actually wear... starting today!
Graphic cat eyes + feminine pink lips
This beauty look is actually rather simple: you don't need any special tools or elaborate techniques to recreate it. Just focus on achieving a velvety base, keeping your liner thick and neat and defining your lips with a delicious pink shade!
Unify your complexion with a medium-coverage liquid foundation, applying the most product to the center of the face and then working out toward the edges. Conceal any blemishes or dark circles and then set your base with a finely milled setting powder.
Use a black liquid liner and follow the natural contour of your top lashlines to create a cat eye flick. Go over the line again, pressing the nib down harder, to create a thicker line from corner to corner. Then, further intensify your look by lengthening your lashes with two coats of mascara.
Complete the look with a slick of glossy pink lip color and you're all set!
