Tuesday, March 1, kicked off Paris Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2016-17 with great fanfare in the French capital. Anthony Vaccarello's highly anticipated presentation created quite the buzz and we were lucky enough to get a behind the scenes look thanks to PFW's partnership with L'Oréal Paris! Let's take a closer look...
Paris Fashion Week Day 1
Vaccarello distinguished himself once again with his sensual, graphic designs that pay tribute to modern femininity. Know for his sexy creations, the designers latest collection focused on black leather, vinyl and suggestive sheer fabric. An androgynous tuxedo with a plunging neckline, a classic tailored mens shirt paired with short shorts... masculinity was countered with provocativeness in this edgy collection.
Backstage beauty by L'Oréal Paris!
As the official sponsor of Paris Fashion Week, L'Oréal Paris created all of the beauty looks with the help of expert Karim Rahman. On the program: a perfectly nude complexion with subtle definition thanks to natural contouring. Contrastingly, some models boasted bold graphic cat eyes with rhinestones at the outer corners.
The looks were completed with faux-messy hairstyles with the hair tied into low ponytails and secured with an indiscriminate black elastic. To boost natural texture, the models' locks were slightly dampened and then sprayed with styling spray. Simple but effective!
If you ask us, this show certainly sets a precedent for the rest of Fashion Week. Do you think the rest of the looks will live up to expectation?
