Poppy Delevigne's hair: the braided crown

When you are an It girl at the top of her game, you can get away with wearing pretty much anything and make it look like the cat's pajamas. Enter Poppy Delevingne - It girl, socialite, member of the It people Delevingne clan and sister to modelling phenomenon Cara Delevingne - in a shapeless, checkered dress and Heidi braids.

And the thing is, we want her look.

Zoom in...

Poppy has captivated magazine readers with her fragile, entirely English form of beauty. This English rose has the typical pink lips and cheeks, a dusting of freckles and blonde-as-can-be hair. She's learned to play up these looks- going minimal on the makeup to emphasise that fresh-faced thing that she's got going on, for example.

Her recent choice of hairstyle was another example. Her simple, braided crown is... in a word, Heidi. It's all that is wholesome, sweet and mountain lass.

It also happens to be a very easy style to copy if you think you can pull it off! (Hint: Most people can actually pull it off - if you are worried about it, just pair it with a jacket and jeans instead of a picnic blanket dress and you'll be fine.)

How to Heidi

Take a comb and give yourself a centre part. Then, brush out your hair. Start each of your pigtail braids behind your ear and braid them holding them across your head instead of down over your shoulder if you want an easier job making them lay straight.

Next, take some bobby pins and pin the braids across your head, lining one up next to the other. If your hair is long and you've got extra at the end, do like Poppy did and double up the end, then pinning the end under higher up! Use some hairspray to hold it in place.

And there you have it: a Poppy/Heidi look to woo them with!
