If like us at Get the Look you have made the most of all the food and festivities of the holiday season, this might be the perfect moment to give a little something back to yourself! Sit back and indulge in some calming and detoxifying you-time to recover from all of the glitter and the gluttony of Christmas and New Year, with a little help from some of our favorite pampering products...
Step 1: your skin
First things first, the best thing you can do to rid your skin of that post-party dullness is to replenish the hydration in your pores. Have a bottle of water on hand and sip repeatedly rather than trying to throw it back as quickly as possible, or else turn to a detoxifying ginger tea or coconut water.
Remove all of your makeup properly with a gentle Micellar water solution then apply a facial oil or serum of your choice to give your skin back the concentrated nutrients it so desperately needs. Then smooth a hydrating mask or a rich night cream across the surface of your skin and allow for it to slowly absorb. This will restore any lost moisture to your skin cells, reverting your complexion back to its usual luminous self!
Step 2: your hair
Just like your skin, your hair needs a bit of hydrating TLC post-Christmas, especially if you have been curling or straightening your locks into fabulous and festive hairstyles in the last couple of weeks!
Once you have washed your hair, run a nourishing hair mask through your lengths from root to tip, then wrap your tresses up into a hair turban while your strands are still warm and damp. This will help to lock the moisture into the hair giving it a revitalising treatment, and will also help to reduce any dryness-induced frizz.
Wash out the mask and complete your at-home hair pampering with a coin-sized dose of rich hair oil, focusing the formula on your tips rather than the roots.
Step 3: your nails
Finally, every spa day needs to include a mani-pedi! Remove all traces of that glittering, colorful polish you've been sporting over the past few weeks then give yourself a proper DIY manicure with our easy tutorial. Indulge in a rich hand cream and, rather than opting for those festive nails all over again, simply smooth over a clear or a nude shade and a protective top coat to begin the new year with a fresh start!
