Awards season continued on last night with the 2017 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. They may not be as widely publicized as other major awards shows – the honours are decided on by the artists themselves – but they bring just as much red carpet glam as any other Hollywood award show.
Celebrities like Michelle Williams, Kerry Washington, Emma Stone, Kaley Cuoco and Sophia Bush, among others, were in attendance, looking nothing short of their best for their red carpet appearances. Get The Look is looking back on the stellar red carpet choices from last night's SAG Awards to give you some of the best dressed celebs – and most prominent fashion and beauty trends – of the night!
SAG AWARDS 2017: BEST DRESSED ON THE RED CARPET
RED CARPET FASHION TRENDS
Stripes, one of the biggest trends of the night, were impossible to miss. Yara Shahidi, Michelle Dockery, Michelle Williams and Naomie Harris really took "practicing their lines" to heart and walked the red carpet in bold, beautiful bands (a major spring runway trend, too!)
Fiery hues like crimson and fuchsia on Millie Bobby Brown, Annalise Basso, Sophie Turner and Sophia Bush, contrasted with the nudes and neutrals worn by Emily Blunt, Kaley Cuoco, Taraji P. Henson and Maisie Williams.
Sheer black fabrics made a basic red carpet colour feel fresh again. Claire Foy looked regal in an embroidered Valentino, Emma Stone went vampy in Alexander McQueen and Kate Hudson wore a sheer Dior cape over her shoulders.
White has been a huge trend on all the red carpets this season and it was far and away the runaway winner. We saw it tonight on Viola Davis, Natalie Portman, Kirsten Dunst, Meryl Streep, Kerry Washington and Brie Larson who all opted for the creamy hue.
BOLD LIPS AND SHADOW, THE REAL WINNERS OF THE NIGHT
Like any red carpet event, bold lipstick reigned as the beauty product of choice on celebrities like Kate Hudson, Kirsten Dunst, Emma Stone, Sophie Turner, Michelle Dockery, and Maisie Williams.
While some, like Kirsten Dunst and Maisie Williams, opted for a bold hue to complement creamy, understated gowns, others, like Michelle Dockery, Kate Hudson and Sophie Turner used statement lipstick to amp up their equally eye-catching gowns.
Meanwhile, Sophia Bush chose to go heavy on the eye shadow over the lips, pairing her vibrant fuchsia gown with matching shadow around her eyelids. If this look doesn't get you inspired up for spring, we don't know what will!
