If there's one trend we can count on this holiday season, it's glitter – on our eyelids, brows, lips and in our hair. This Christmas Eve, we're encouraging you to get festive with your makeup look by adopting the season's glitter trend. Not sure how to wear it? Fear not, because Get The Look is offering you a step by step guide to achieving sequin/glitter eyeliner.
Sequin eyeliner is worn solely above the eyelids to give the effect that normal liquid or gel liner would. It's more subtle than glitter lids, but just enough to amp up your look for Christmas Eve. Read on to get the look!
STEP BY STEP: SEQUIN EYELINER
Step 1: Since this makeup look is focused on the eyes, avoid overdoing your complexion. This means using a damp makeup sponge to apply a touch of liquid foundation onto your skin to cover up any redness or blemishes.
Step 2: Next, enhance your complexion with pink blush on the apples of your cheekbones. For a more natural result, apply a cream blush before applying foundation for a flush that comes from under the skin.
Step 3: Prep your eyes for glitter liner by applying an eye primer onto your lids. Use your fingers to rub the product onto the entire surface of your lids.
Step 4: Next, apply eyelash glue onto your upper lids on the area you would normally apply eyeliner. Use tweezers to place sequins of your choice over the glue. Press down gently so that the sequins stay put.
Step 5: Use a volumizing and lengthening mascara to enhance your lashes. Apply product from root to tip, moving your hands in a back and forth motion for fuller coverage and lashes.
Step 6: Complete your look with a transparent lip gloss applied onto your lips for a pretty balance. If you're feeling a little more festive, you can even go for a glossy red lip!
