On March 12, Divergent star Shailene Woodley appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. If you were lucky enough to watch, you saw Woodley play a mean game of double turtleneck ping pong and present Fallon with a horseradish. We at Get the Look, however, only had eyes for Shailene's Twiggy-inspired hairstyle!
A rising star
Since her breakthrough role as Amy Juergans on ABC Family's hit show The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Shailene Woodley has been a star on the rise. Outside of her television work, Shailene has appeared in supporting roles alongside established actors like George Clooney, and played the female lead in 2013's indie-flick The Spectacular Now.
In 2014, she's set to appear in film adaptations of John Green's bestselling novel, The Fault in Our Stars, and the successful Divergent trilogy series by Veronica Roth. We're impressed! Of course, it's not just Shailene's talent that wows us, we also admire her red carpet style! At The Tonight Show taping, Shailene was rocking a seriously 60's hairstyle that looked super chic. Step one: Shailene's blunt, just-longer-than-ear-length hairstyle certainly brings a lot to the look, but we couldn't get over how glossy and smooth her locks were. Start by conditioning your hair with a rich hair mask, followed up by the proper shampoo and conditioner.
Step two: Towel-dry your hair and then apply smoothing serum and heat protection , evenly distributing it from root to tip with a comb.
Step three: Use a blow dryer and a paddle brush to dry your hair straight. If you need to, pass over your hair with a flat iron to ensure it's as smooth as possible.
Step four: With a tail comb, create a side part. Smooth the hair back on each side behind the ears and spritz all over with hairspray to secure.
