If there's anyone who can pull off a red lip and bold eye, it's L'Oreal muse Eva Longoria . The actress is no stranger to rocking the classic, vibrant colour on her lips, and just when we thought the red lip, bold eye duo was long behind us, she provided us with new fall 2016 makeup inspiration.
Lately, designers and celebrities alike have been showcasing the red lip, minimal eye makeup duo, using red lipstick as a way to make a bold statement, and avoid having to apply eye makeup all together. That is, until Eva Longoria stepped out onto the red carpet at the Padres Contra El Cancer's 16th annual 'El Sueno de Esperanza' celebration in Las Vegas over the weekend.
The brunette beauty contrasted her white halter slit-dress with a classic red lip, perfectly bronzed, contoured cheekbones, and a golden smoky eye that tied her look together. We love the combination of a bronzed glow and a red lip – it's the perfect way to transition into fall while holding on to that summer glow! Here's how to get the look:
EVA LONGORIA'S CLASSIC RED LIP AND BRONZED GLOW
Ready to transition your beauty routine into fall, but not ready to let go of that bronzed summer look? Take note from Eva Longoria's latest beauty look! Don't forget to pair the look with an all-white ensemble of your own for the ultimate contrast!
To create a glowing complexion like Eva's, start off by priming your face with L'Oreal's Lumi primer. This will give you a dewy finish to start off with. Next, keep things light by using a sponge or a beauty blender to unify your base with a BB cream. Once you have the perfect canvass, continue by contouring your cheekbones. Start off with a dark bronzing powder that's one to two shades darker than your skin tone, and swipe it across your cheekbones with a fluffy brush. Apply the same shade on your temples and forehead, sides of your nose, and jawline.
Ready to re-create Eva's golden smoky eye? Start off by coating your lids with a light brown shadow. This will give you an even base to work with. Then, using a light, shimmery golden shade, coat the inner corners of your lids and work the colour into the middle of the lid. Apply the same shade on your lower lash line towards the inner corners of your eyes.
Next, use a burnt orange shade of matte or shimmer shadow (whatever you prefer) to cover your outer lids, extending slightly outwards and down towards the lower lash line and brow line. Extend the colour up towards your brows, but leave a small space between the brow bone and the shadow.
To finish off the golden smoky eye, take a darker brown shade and using a small angled brush, shade in your lower, outer lash line. Then, using a medium-sized fluffy shadow brush, blend the colours together on the upper and lower lid for a seamless appearance.
Enhance your eyes further by coating your upper and lower lashes with a voluminous mascara for that glam look. Then, line your waterline with a black pencil liner to finish off.
Now for the fun part – lipstick! Choose a bright cherry red that will stand out from your all-white look, and coat your lips multiple time to ensure full coverage. Finish off with a layer of clear gloss and you have one glamorous summer night out look!
