When it comes to the runways, Couture week is the crème de la crème of fashion, so it's not surprising to see beauty trends that are completely over-the-top this time of year. Last night, Karl Lagerfeld showed his Spring/Summer 2017 collection for Chanel in Paris. The show had supermodels hair slicked to one side, complementing pretty feather-adorned dresses for a strong, yet subtle 1920s-inspired look.
Structured hair seems to be the biggest trend this season, with Guido Palau and Sam McKnight both making strong cases for the bold 'do. While McKnight had Chanel models hair wrapped in a chic chignon, Palau had the Givenchy models' hair slicked back with square metallic stickers at the temples. In terms of makeup, metallic and glittery eyes were strong, with Sam Bryant swiping another layer of silver on top of a graphic black liner at Ralph & Russo.
The most magical of all? Dior's Spring 2017 Haute Couture show. The design house used the star as inspiration for the romantic look – perfect for Valentine's day! – which resulted in models with tiny gold stars placed under and in the corners of the eyes. Read on for more of the best beauty moments from Spring/Summer 2017 Haute Couture week!
THE BEST BEAUTY LOOKS FROM SPRING/SUMMER HAUTE COUTURE WEEK
While some Dior models took the runway with a small star placed on the inner corners of their eyes as a replacement for white shimmery shadow, others had multiple stars sprinkled from their eyes across their cheekbones. Either way, it made for one magical runway look! Friday night makeup inspiration? We think so!
We're no stranger to the chic chignon, but for their Haute Couture show, Chanel gave the 'do a whole new meaning. Models hair was gelled and wrapped around the back of the head in a tight swirl motion, making for one bold, structured 'do!
Givenchy models took the runway with fresh faced ready-for-spring looks that consisted of nothing more than a touch of mascara, light brown shadow and a nude lip that enhanced their natural lip shade! Talk about the perfect spring look!
RALPH & RUSSO
At Ralph & Russo, a layer of metallic silver liner was swiped on top of a classic black wing for a modern, and refreshing way to wear the look! To get this look, simply apply your black winged liner as you would, then apply a silver liner directly on top of it!
