If you have long hair, deciding what to do with it over the summer months can be a little bit tricky. You have a few options, of course: up, down, to the side, chop it all off... but there is one little hairstyle out there that just might just help to make your life, and that of your hair, a little easier. In case you didn't read the title of this article, I'm talking about a braided hairstyle. Any braided hairstyle, in fact.
At the Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin recently, models at the Anne Gork show were sent merrily down the runway with their plaits swaying from side to side in their wake.
This was a rather gorgeous reminder that a good braid is one of the best hairstyles in existence for all kinds of reasons. Firstly, they keep your hair under control. If it's braided, it can't run amok with anarchic flyaways, humid frizz or a badly timed gust of wind. Secondly, braids are very pretty, end of. Thirdly, they're so mercifully versatile that they can be worn with anything.
All of that makes a briaded hairdo a must during the summer!
Not convinced? Spend half a day out and about with your hair down, sticking to the back of your neck and then spend the next half with it in a braided style of your choosing. I think you'll come around...
You could even stick a flower in your hair for some added tropical pizzazz.
