Although summer has come to an end, the Toronto International Film Festival has given celebrities a chance to hold on to what's left of it – including some of the season's best beauty trends. L'Oreal muse Naomi Watts attended the premiere of The Bleeder wearing a flowing, purple floral gown and beach-y curls that gave us serious summer boho vibes, and inspired us to adopt the look for ourselves!
And now, actresses Natalie Portman and Lily-Rose Depp have adopted a colourful, summer-y look of their own, showing off different shades of green eyeshadow for their red carpet debuts. At the screening of Planetarium, the two women stood side-by-side – Lily wearing a spaghetti strap, feathered mini dress in dark shades of black and green, and Natalie in a sophisticated white coatdress – to promote their new film.
Lily-Rose matched her makeup to her dress, opting for green shadow and a dewy complexion. Her co-star Natalie Portman followed suit at the September 11th screening of Jackie, matching her sheer bright green floral gown to her green eyeshadow.

TIFF 2016 MAKEUP TREND: HOW TO WEAR COLOURFUL EYESHADOW
When trying out a coloured shadow like green, it's best to keep the rest of your makeup simple and to a minimum like Lily-Rose at the premiere of Planetarium. This will ensure that your makeup isn't clown-like, and that all eyes are drawn towards your bold colour choice!
While Lily-Rose paired her bright green shadow with a dewy complexion, peach coloured lip gloss, and a hint of mascara, Natalie went for a softer, more romantic look, pairing her dual green shadow with a rosy complexion and matching pink gloss.
If you go for a bright shade of shadow, keep the rest of your complexion neutral. But if you opt for soft, subtle colours like Natalie, rosy cheeks and matching pink lips will give you a more romantic, feminine appeal.
MATCH YOUR OUTFIT
Coloured shadow can be a little too over-the-top when other colours are involved, so try matching your shadow colour to the colour of your outfit for a look that flows (and doesn't have you looking in every which way)!
Natalie paired her dark and light green mixed shadow with a floor-length sheer t-shirt gown that came adorned with floral embellishments and a matching belt that cinched her waist. Lily-Rose went with a more youthful look, pairing her bright green shadow with a feathered spaghetti strap mini dress.
OPT FOR AN UP-DO
While Natalie and Lily opted for two different shades of green shadow, there's one thing their look did have in common: up-dos! The Planetarium co-stars wore their hair in tousled, yet romantic up-dos that allowed them to show off their bold makeup looks and gorgeous skin.
