Looking to switch up your beauty routine? Love to wear cutting edge makeup trends? From bubblegum to dusty pink and pretty petal, a wash of pink across your eyelids can instantly transform your beauty look!

While adding a hint of pink to your eyelids might sound like a tricky trend to get away with, we've got a few expert tips for getting pink eye in a good way!

Why we love it...

While a dusty rose hue is the perfect daytime shade, it can also be nicely layered over a smoky eye for the evening. Last year, pink popped up on the runways for Burberry and Alberta Ferretti- think creamy pink lids teamed with a dab of glitter to give the overall look that dewy, wet finish. The cult trend has also been taken for a spin by our favourite red carpet star and L'Oreal Paris ambassador Blake Lively . The actress often heralds warm pink lids and a matching glossy pink lip during her appearances on the red carpet.

Try the trend

Step 1: Always make sure you even out your skin tone first to cancel out any redness. Hide blemishes with concealer, and then dot light coverage foundation across your cheeks, chin, nose and forehead. Follow up with more concealer underneath your eyes to camouflage any darkness.

Step 2: When selecting your shade of pink it's important to keep your complexion in mind. Darker skin can carry off punchier tones, while fair complexions are best suited to pale pinks.

Step 3: Anchor your pink eyes with black mascara- apply two coats for best effect.

Step 4: Try pairing your pink lids with a coordinating lipgloss for a balanced beauty look.
