Last night, December 2, held the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in London, England. Though there was, ahem, certainly a lot on display, our eyes were fixed on the hair! If you've ever wondered how the likes of Doutzen Kroes , Candice Swanepoel, and Karlie Kloss achieve their envy-inducing voluminous waves, we're here to fill you in using VS' own Shanina Shaik for inspiration!
Get the Look
Start by washing your hair with shampoo and conditioner from a volume-boosting range (such as L'Oréal Paris' Volume Collagen).
Use a towel to remove as much moisture from the hair as possible by wrapping it around the ends and gently twisting. Then, massage volume mousse into your roots and comb down to the ends.
Spray heat protection/styling spray throughout your locks and then blowdry your hair with a vented hair brush. Once your hair is 100% dry, use a large barrel curling iron to create XXL curls that curl away from your face and start around ear length.
Once you've removed each curl from the iron, quickly spray it with hairspray and then use your fingers to reshape the curl. When you've reached the top of the curl, push the hair forward (to boost volume lift) and secure it with an alligator clip. Leave them until all the curls have cooled.
Release each curl and then use a soft-bristle brush to gently loosen them up, creating the ultimate in loose VS-worthy waves.
Makeup to match
For a natural daytime look, opt for a luminous base, hint of blush, and luscious lashes. For an evening look, follow Shanina's lead and go bold with sultry smoky eyes and bronzed skin.
