Two-tone teal and black smoky eye tutorial

by Hannah Ikin -

Every now and then, we come across a beauty look that really takes our breath away. Our latest obsession is this striking two-tone smoky eye, featuring two gorgeous shades: teal and black grey. Marrying color and class, this look won our hearts the moment we set eyes upon it. So much so, in fact, that we decided to create an easy tutorial.

Two-tone chic

The smoky eye has been a runway staple for a long time now and, while we'll never tire of this classic smoldering look, sometimes it's nice to shake things up a little. This vibrant take on things is the perfect way to work the smoky eye with a twist. If you're heading out this weekend, then this bold, party-friendly look is sure to turn heads.

Get the look

Step one

To get a flawless base, apply concealer to any problems areas, then dot some light-reflecting foundation onto your nose, cheekbones and forehead, before blending with a makeup sponge.

Step two

Apply a small amount of highlighter or champagne-colored eyeshadow to the inner corners of your eyes for a subtle but sparkly finish.

Step three

Take a black kohl eyeliner pencil, and use it to outline your lower lashline, before blending with an applicator for a smoldering finish.

Step four

Now for the fun part! Take your chosen teal eyeshadow and apply it to your eyelids, starting from the inner corners and blending upwards and outwards.

Step five

Take your black eyeshadow and apply it to the the outer half of each eyelid, extending it as far upwards and outwards as you dare! Be sure to leave the middle section green, for that flash of color. Apply a little more to the inner corners of your eyes and use a makeup applicator brush to blend the colors into each other for a seamless effect.

Step six

Finish your standout look by applying a coat of mascara to your lashes and a light dusting of rose-toned blush to the apples of your cheeks.

You now have a show-stopping beauty look to try out, so what are you waiting for?
