Yesterday marked the start of the 2014 Venice International Film Festival in Venice, Italy. Director Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu's bold comedy Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) kicked things off and set a high standard for the rest of the festival, which will continue until September 6. While we at Get the Look are pretty excited about the films, we're even more excited about the red carpet looks, and today we're taking a closer look at the opening ceremony ensembles of Liya Kebede and Bianca Balti .
A champion of cinema, the L'Oréal Paris brand sponsors some of the largest film festivals in the world (including TIFF!) and, for us, that means getting to see their gorgeous ambassadors hit the red carpet styled to perfection. Last night, we saw both Liya and Bianca walk the red carpet in strapless, floor-length black gowns. While they had this in common, the ambassadors' overall looks were quite different.
Liya went for a modern, sophisticated look with an A-line cut gown featuring a feather-covered bodice. She accessorized with simple diamond and white gold jewelry to keep the look current and simple. For her hair and beauty, Liya opted for loose waves tossed behind her shoulders and an ultra-minimal beauty look that showed off her flawless complexion.
On the other hand, Italian model Bianca Balti went for look that channeled pure vintage glamour. Her gown featured an empire waist and a polka dot tulle overlay embroidered with ornate red flowers for a burst of color. She completed her look with coordinating earrings, a simple updo, and brick red lips!
