These days it's common practice to take our skincare questions straight to the web, where there is seemingly no shortage of useful information! However, the sheer amount of youtube videos, blog posts, and magazine articles on the subject can make it difficult to know what's what. More importantly, the information found within them can never replace the hands-on experience and expertise of a real dermatologist.
Today, L'Oréal Paris Canada is consulting with Dr. Julia Carroll to find out how women over 30 should treat dark circles and under-eye bags. Here are some of her best tips, but make sure to watch the whole video for more in-depth information!
When it comes to skin complaints, Dr. Carroll recommends considering what's going on behind the scenes:
Problem: "In your 30s, you're not turning over your collagen quite as often and so you start to get hollowing under the eyes. Then you're going to see dark circles, you might even see some crepiness with that loss of collagen."
Must-have ingredient: "Hyaluronic acid... it's an amazing molecule, it can hold up to 1000x it's weight in water... It really does plump the skin."
Your perfect product: Revitalift Volume Filler
Problem: "In your 40s, you really want to focus on getting those cells turning over, so you want to exfoliate, but it is the eye area so you have to be a bit cautious. I always look for a product that's gentle around the eyes and that has an exfoliating component."
Must-have ingredient: "LHA is a great molecule for [exfoliation]"
Your perfect product: Age Perfect Cell Renewal
