After the fast flurry of glittering Fashion Weeks throughout September, capturing the imaginations of fashionistas flocking to New York, London, Milan and Paris; now it's Canada's turn: welcome to the World Mastercard Fashion Week! From October 19 to 23, Toronto is playing host to this celebration of home-grown Canadian design and fashion talent, and we couldn't be more excited!
With our eyes constantly searching for those ever important details, we couldn't help but mention one of our favorite makeup looks from the week so far: the gorgeously autumnal two-tone lipstick from the Mackage Spring/Summer 2016 fashion show on October 21.
Red on red
Dramatic, bold and daring: this edgy pout straight off of the runway could be just the addition to your party or evening look this fall! Blushing, berry-colored ombré lips are already one of the hottest trends to have emerged for the coming colder months and this look is just another step further, making your pout the center of attention. Ready to rock those red shades? Here's how it's done...
'Look at me' lips are always best paired with bold brows, so get yours in shape, fast! Thankfully, the bold brow trend is all about minimal grooming, so leave the tweezers at home and instead reach for a rich brown brow pencil with a spoolie brush attachment. Use the spoolie to comb through the hairs in an upward direction, then switch to the pencil to add color and shape to the brow line with short sharp dashes. Revert back to the spoolie to comb through, blend and shape the brow line.
Choose a deep, oxblood-red shade for your upper lip and a rich fiery red for your lower lip. Begin by defining your lips with a lip liner to fix the color in place and to create a sharp, clean edge for your look, then fill in your pout with your chosen shades. Blot with a piece of tissue to remove excess, then reapply to strengthen the color.
Top Tip: use lip stains or tints rather than a transferrable stick variety to prevent your two colors from mixing and smudging together!
You don't need anything more than a coat of volumizing mascara to pair with your lips. to add a punky style to your look, use Miss Manga Rock mascara for some texturized drama, and you are ready to party!
