Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on August 20th, 1992, Demetria Devonne Lovato – known as Demi – has enjoyed a hugely successful career in television and music, turning herself into a household name across the USA... and she's still really young!
Although Demi's acting debut was in the kids' television series 'Barney and Friends', Demi really shot to fame a little later, when she was cast as the lead in the movie 'Camp Rock' in 2008. With its jaunty soundtrack and famous cast (the film also starred the ever-popular Jonas Brothers), its success was unparalleled. Having performed four of the songs in the movie, Demi went on to release her debut album later that same year, packed with catchy pop-rock songs. The album shot to number two on the Billboard chart.
Following more successful appearances in film and television, and with another album, 'Here We Go Again' under her belt, Demi was asked to become a judge on 'X Factor USA', where she enjoyed the role of mentor for two years. In 2013, Demi began a huge live tour, playing venues across North and South America.
Demi's natural beauty and mesmerizing smile allow her to experiment with her look regularly. Viewers of the X Factor tuned in to see her experiment with unusual pieces of clothing during her stint as a judge: think studded leather jackets... and pink streaked hair!
Demi writes for Seventeen magazine, addressing issues which frequently affect young female teens, such as struggling with self-belief. She also contributes to a variety of charitable organizations, and has a particular place in her heart for supporting sufferers of mental illness.
