Emmanuelle Grey Rossum was born in New York City, USA on September 12th, 1986. As a young girl, it soon became apparent that Emmanuelle – known as Emmy – had a talent for singing, particularly opera pieces. Her vocal range astounded her music teachers, and at the age of just seven she was offered a part in the Metropolitan Opera's Children's Chorus, singing alongside opera superstars such as Luciano Pavarotti and Plácido Domingo.
Emmy spent several successful years in the opera, performing in works including 'La Bohème' and 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. But as her teenage years approached, Emmy was bursting to try her hand at acting, too, and her career in front of the cameras began to take off, starting with a guest appearance on the television show 'Law and Order'. Roles in movies soon followed, including 'An American Rhapsody' alongside Scarlett Johansson, and the international blockbuster 'The Day After Tomorrow'.
Despite her enviable successes in Hollywood, Emmy's been careful to maintain her vocal ability, and she continues to take great care of her soprano voice. When she's not singing or acting, Emmy is also a supporter of multiple charities including YouthAIDS and PiNKiTUDE, a breast cancer awareness organization.
Emmy has Russian Jewish ancestry. The feminine, pastel-colored dresses which Emmy often wears perfectly complement her girlish, cute features. Despite her worldwide fame and international acclaim, Emmy still manages to rock that girl-next-door look – a look which most women spend years trying to perfect!
