Hayden Christensen is a Canadian actor of Danish, Italian, Swedish, and English ancestry. He was a competitive athlete in high school, playing both hockey and tennis. At the same time Christensen attended the Actors Studio in New York, as well as the Arts York drama program.
Christensen's first acting role was on the television show Family Passions. His earliest acting credits included roles in The Virgin Suicides and Higher Ground. The actor earned a Golden Globe in 2001 for his work in Life as a House, but it wasn't until he portrayed a young Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels that he gained public attention.
Hayden has consistently worked since then and in 2013 it was announced he would open a production company alongside his brother in conjunction with Enjoy Movies. Their first project, American Heist, is a remake of Steve McQueen's The Great Saint Louis Bank Robbery. He has been linked to actresses Rachel Bilson, Sienna Miller, and Natalie Portman.
