Maia Mitchell is an Australian actress and singer/ songwriter from Lismore, New South Wales, who is principally known for playing one of the lead roles, Callie Jacobs, in the ABC drama The Fosters.
Maia began acting and dancing at a young age, taking part in local theater productions and school plays until she was discovered by talent agencies at 12-years-old. She landed her first major role soon after as Brittany Flune in the Australian children's television program Mortified, which then propelled her to star in the teen TV drama Trapped.
The Disney Channel then spotted her talents, making her the lead role in Teen Beach Movie in 2013, and then in its recently released sequel Teen Beach Movie 2.
Fun Fact: Maia can play the guitar and has showcased this talent in a number of TV and film moments!
A definite teen style icon, Maia opts for summery beach-inspired looks for her day-to-day style but knows how to turn up the heat for any red carpet or evening look. We love how she keeps her hair fun and versatile, switching romantic waves for tousled updos and ponytails: this actress is definitely one to watch!
