Susan Sarandon is an American actress, entrepreneur, and activist. She was born in Queens, New York on October 4, 1946. She met actor Chris Sarandon at The Catholic University of America in 1964 and they were married in the 1967. Susan was discovered in 1969 at a casting-call she attended with her husband, and though he did not get a part, she did: a major co-starring role in Joe would launch her long and celebrated career.
Sarandon became a household name in 1975, when she starred as Janet in cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Later, she worked with Hollywood heavyweights like Robert Redford, Catherine Deneuve, Jack Nicholson, Julia Roberts, Marlon Brando and Sean Penn.
Off-screen, Sarandon is known for her social and political activism, serving as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF and FAO. She continues to live in New York and has 3 children. The actress was named a L'Oréal Paris spokesperson in January 2016.
